Luke Wilson recently debuted a 20 minute short film he starred and directed in, Satellite Beach. As reported by Sarasota Magazine, Wilson discussed the film with students at Ringling College of Art and Design. The film was codirected by Andrew Wilson, who also helmed the feature The Wendell Baker Story with his younger brother.

The magazine reported on the details of the film’s plot and the guerilla techniques incorporated into the film shoot:

The short, titled Satellite Beach, follows Wilson’s character—“who’s crazy,” the actor says—as he pretends to be a NASA official whose job it is to track the path of the Endeavor space shuttle’s journey through the streets of Los Angeles, from LAX to its home at the California Science Center, as well as the space shuttle Atlantis’ journey to its final resting place at Kennedy Space Center here in Florida. The movie was filmed during the Endeavor’sactual move through the streets of L.A.—not easy, Wilson recalls, although he and his team managed to figure out. “With a clipboard and a tie, you can do just about anything,” he says.

No further details about the film or where it might be seen in the future were revealed. Wilson will be seen later this year in The Skeleton Twins opposite Bill Hader and Kristen Wiig.
