“SATELLITE BEACH” ACCEPTED INTO IT’S 17th FILM FESTIVAL

We are pleased to announce that “Satellite Beach” has not been accepted into it’s 17th film festival.

Luke Wilson’s short film will now be screening at the NEW YORK CITY INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL from May 29th through June 5th, 2014.  For screening times, please visit http://www.nyciff.com/.

Via NYCIFF:

The New York City International Film Festival has a well earned reputation, nationally and internationally, as one of the most respected events of the film festival year. The organization is committed to bringing the best of the world’s cinematography to New York City and to provide a platform for talented domestic and international filmmakers to showcase their work.

As a filmmaker, I’ve had the opportunity to attend the Cannes Film Festival. I was incredibly impressed with the organization, as well as quality and glamour of the festival; they had an immense respect for the film community. I created NYCIFF with the purpose of giving filmmakers a high profile platform in the states to showcase their work to a vast and diverse audience.
-Roberto Rizzo – Founder, NYCIFF

NYCIFF is in the business of theatrical film distribution. Through its annual black tie festival, as well as anxiously anticipated screenings throughout the year, NYCIFF connects with a loyal and discerning New York fan base.

This commitment to excellence from Founder, Roberto Rizzo, differentiates NYCIFF from any other film organization. With distribution of films more difficult than ever, the NYCIFF’s mission catapults relationships with some of the most innovative and cutting edge filmmakers from around the world.

SATELLITE BEACH follows the unique journey of the Endeavour space shuttle as it travels through the streets of Los Angeles to the California Science Center and the final move of the Atlantis space shuttle to the Kennedy Space Center.

Via Wikipedia:

Space Shuttle Endeavour (Orbiter Vehicle Designation: OV-105) is one of the retired orbiters of the Space Shuttle program of NASA, the space agency of the United States.[1] Endeavour was the fifth and final spaceworthy NASA space shuttle to be built, and first flew in May 1992 on mission STS-49 with its last mission being STS-134 in May 2011.[2][3] The STS-134 mission was originally planned as the final mission of the Space Shuttle program,[4] but with authorization of the STS-135 mission, Atlantis became the last Space Shuttle to fly.

The United States Congress authorized the construction of Endeavour in 1987 to replace Challenger, which was lost in the STS-51-L launch accident where the Space Shuttle Challenger blew up about two minutes into flight in 1986. Structural spares built during the construction of Discovery and Atlantis, two of the previous shuttles, were used in its assembly. NASA chose to build Endeavour from spares rather than refitting Enterprise or accepting a Rockwell International proposal to build two shuttles for the price of one of the original shuttles, on cost grounds.
