Primetime Emmy Awards: The Winners

CBS aired the Sixty-Fifth Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.  As we reported recently, the stars looked great out on the red carpet, but who were the big winners?

The Primetime Emmy Awards are like the Academy Awards or Oscars for television! With categories that pick top winning Actors, Actresses, Supporting Roles, Writers, Directors, and entire Series there are so many to choose from!!  Who are your favorite characters played by?  Which is your favorite Drama Series or Comedy Series?  Who would you have chosen to win in the top categories?  Let us know below and on our Oxymoron Facebook Page and don’t forget to follow us on Twitter and tweet us with #PrimetimeEmmyAwards.

Some of the Series that took home Emmy’s this year included Breaking Bad for Drama Series.  Breaking Bad‘s own Anna Gunn won for Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. Unfortunately Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston didn’t win the Emmy‘s for their categories, but we still love the show!  Homeland on Showtime took home a couple of awards.  Claire Danes won for Lead Actress in a Drama Series and it also won in the writing category.

Jim Parsons took home an award for Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for his role in The Big Bang Theory.  HBO‘s Veep and ABC‘s Modern Family were among the other top winners in the Comedy Series categories.

Sopranos Actor James Gandolfini Remembered

Sopranos actor James Gandolfini sadly passed away two weeks ago in Italy.  The actor was best known for his role of Tony Soprano on the hit HBO show The Sopranos.  Many family members, friends, and celebrities alike have expressed their deep loss and sadness over the news.

We would like to take the time to express our sympathy and condolences to the family of Sopranos actor James Gandolfini.  He was a superb actor and someone many of us have looked up to.  As we remember Sopranos actor James Gandolfini, tonight so will Broadway.  The lights of Broadway’s theaters in New York will be dimmed as a mark of respect to James Gandolfini and we will all remember one of the greats.

Check out what Luke Wilson is up to these days in an Interview on HBO.com

Back in October of 2011 a show called Enlightened premiered on HBO.  Starring Laura Dern as a woman, Amy, who self destructs and finds herself in a holistic treatment program at a rehabilitation center.  After returning from rehab, Amy has made a breakthrough and found inner peace.  On her new found mission, Amy tries to fix her ex-husband Levi played by Luke Wilson, who is dealing with his own demons and substance abuse problems.

In the show, Wilson’s character Levi, wants to accept the life changes Amy has made but really believes that he is fine and doesn’t need any help.  The show has gotten rave reviews and if you haven’t seen it, it is a show worth checking out!  You can check out what Luke Wilson is up to these days in an interview on HBO.com.
